No Room in the Church
There is no room in mainstream “churches” for people who follow their spirit and its development. This would be especially evident in churches associated with the rabid right, moral majority or as I call them Evangelical Christians. Most if not all of these people are republican and vote that way. Why is it that a republican can trot out dogma at will and the sheep just follow the program, straight to the ballot box? How any intelligent person can continue to vote against their own self interest is beyond me. Let’s say for the sake of argument that “they” are right. How does that make everyone else WRONG? How do people read the bible and only obey or hear the dogma that support their argument? What about the rest of the bible?
Did not Jesus ask us to “Love thy neighbor as thyself” and treat others the way you wish to be treated? Exactly WHO do these “Christians” believe Jesus was referring to?
Does he say ”only love white americans?
Does he say “only love straight americans?
Does he say “only love Christians?
Does he say “only love americans?
Don’t think so- Jesus would be so disappointed to see how his name has been used to kill, enslave, torture, vilify, abuse and disregard basic human rights. As a Christian, your duty is to love others unconditionally. That is what most people who call themselves “spiritual” are seeking-people who understand WHAT unconditional love is and attempt to live from that space.
The republican party has hijacked Christianity, its simple purity and message of love for ALL! No one, party or people have a lock on God. God belongs to all people everywhere on this planet. Get used to it and get over yourselves.
