Rainbows for Tim Russert

Published by goldendlite at 10:43 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

God and his/her angels have welcomed Tim Russert home. We are the losers in this transition.

It was humbling and awe inspiring to see a beautiful double rainbow awaiting the friends, family and loved ones of our beloved Tim Russert as they exited the memorial service this afternoon. What I did not know is “Somewhere Over a Rainbow” was played as they left the Kennedy Center. To see not one but TWO rainbows- well the angels are singing ”Welcome Home Tim- Good to have you back!

A true journalist, he inspired millions to believe that politics does not have to be a dirty word. That our politicians are responsible to do MORE than just talk, more than mere rhetoric or posturing. His character, dignity and obligation to truth will forever live on and inspire us all to be better people and better Americans.

The rainbow was a gift to his wife and son, as well as his beloved dad. It was Tim’s last message to an adoring public - I am with God in his heaven, I am HOME again and all is right in my world. For once, I think it was a gift to all of us that indeed, all is right not only with Tim but with all of us. The rainbow is a promise made. He is in GREAT hands and will be watching this presidential race unfold in spectacular company.

Take care Sir Russert! Miss you we will, but you have earned a place in our hearts for ever.
